I am so glad that February is over.
It has been a very tough month.
Being taken off of my meds has really affected me. My joints and muscles are constantly in pain. My weekly massages have had to be suspended until my 2nd trimester. My headaches are coming about 2 days a week now, adding to the nausea. The headaches are simply overwhelming, and there are limited medications that I can take while pregnant.
Wes had to take me to the hospital a few weeks ago, as I could not stop throwing up. The dr. thought it was either the flu or food poisoning...and to me it didn't matter what caused it. I just knew that I could not keep down ANYTHING
for more than 12 hours. Not even ice chips. It was awful. I think being pregnant made
it worse, since I was already super nauseated, weak and not eating.
Night time is just the worst time for me. I feel queasy off and on during the day, but it gets much worse in the evening. Most nights I cannot eat dinner, so my cooking for the family has all but stopped.
I am so thankful for my sweet girls. They have all really pitched
in with the cleaning and cooking. Wes has really been a big help too, running errands for me and
keeping me stocked with pears and bananas. I don't like fruit at all, but that is the
only food that keeps me from feeling sick.
When I am too sick for dinner, he stops by the gas station and brings me a Coke Icee.
Ice cold drinks seem to settle my stomach.
It is a blessing that this is the slow time of year for crafting. I have only been taking a few web orders over the past month, and I certainly do not feel like creating anything new. We had to cancel a showwe had planned on doing mid-March, since I had not felt good.
Since I am spending much more time on the couch, it gives me the opportunity to
really focus on school work for the girls. We have rarely been out of the house this month,
so we have been plugging away at our school work. We have accomplished so much over the winter, we will be done with school alot sooner than planned this year.
Elaine finished her French a few weeks ago, and Anna has finished her Science. She will be done with her Spelling book this week. Emily has gone through two Spelling books and two Math books this year. She loves Math so much, I got her a third Math book to finish out
the school year. We have been focusing more time on reading and phonics, and Amelia is reading a few books all by herself! She has been so easy to teach, and loves to do her
alphabet and number workbooks.
I have decided that for next school year, we will do more computer work. We have
really liked the curriculum with Alpha Omega and they offer all subjects on the computer.
They offer more electives for the older grades and Elaine and Anna want to study Literature and Science.
