Blizzard 2011
These are the only two pics that I could take while holding a feverish sick baby!!
Here are the guys (Wes plus the two neighbors) digging out their driveway. They also dug out the older neighbor's car across the street.
The snow doesn't look too deep in this shot....but it is up to my wood bench by the tree. That is almost 2 feet tall.

Here is our mini pathway leading up to the porch. The snow was level/above the porch step level.

Being snowed in isn't such a bad thing. We already stay home alot to work on school, take care of a new baby, and work on my craft business. The only bad thing about the past 2 weeks is that the entire family has been sick!!

Emily had chicken pox 2 weeks ago.
No fever, just about 40 itchy spots. (mostly on her back)
She did really well, and did not complain at all.

Anna started not feeling well about 2 weeks ago.
After laying on the couch with a low grade temp that came and went for a week,
a call to the dr=an ear infection.
I was too sick to take her to the dr.,
so Granny & Pop volunteered to take her.
They met Daddy there and filled her rx for us before bringing her home.

Elaine has just had a bad cough, so she has been
the main babysitter, maid, and servant for everyone.

I felt sick 2 weeks ago as well...still managing to run to Walmart and stock up on groceries before the big storm. I think I had a small bout of pneumonia...having chest pain, coughing, and a fever for days. Once I started an antibiotic...I started feeling better.

Amelia started breaking out in spots last week. Her spots were Much Much worse than Emily's. She was simply covered!!! Luckily they were not on her face. Mostly on her back and legs. She was not very sick with them though (thankfully) and still was able to run, play and eat while having her spots. Her favorite activity was "swimming" in the bathtub. We gave her multiple baths per day to help bring out the spots. Our new dryer was much appreciated, warming up handfuls of towels to wrap her up in each time.

She started in with the same bad cough and a fever a few days later. In spite of this, she has been quite a sweet helper and the best little "nurse" for everyone. She is a big helper and gets everyone drinks, snacks, diapers, phones, books, and anything else we sickies have needed.

We started feeling sick last week. He started in with congestion, a slight fever and tons of coughing again. He has been sick off and on since christmas time. He layed on the couch for about 2 days...then went back to work while still sick. He just hates to lie around. He did feel well enough to play the wii and some card games with the girls. He also enjoyed his sick time playing with Ellie.

Ellie has been quite the trooper through all of this. She started breaking out with spots last Sunday. Just one on her neck...by the next morning though...about 12 more showed up. Then her fever started. She had to be the hottest little baby I have ever felt. I stayed up with her almost all night to keep watch over her. Luckily she slept fairly well for being so sick. She has only been a little itchy, scratching her neck and tummy a few times. They seem to be dried up now at this point, but she is just not back to her normal self yet. She is so sweet though, when she felt better yesterday, she played and played and played.

Her favorite things now are:
sitting up by herself
scratch and feel books
(the baby chick page is her favorite)
talking to the cat & grabbing her fur
taking out her num nums and putting it back in by herself
looking in the mirror
and Daddy!

I have never seen a little baby want her daddy so much!! While she was sick she would just fuss and wiggle until he would pick her up. She did not even want to nurse if he was in the room. She follows him with her eyes all over!! She loves to fly like an airplane, scratch Daddy's whiskers (he grew them longer for her to be able to grab at them) and act shy with him. She definitely grins the biggest when Daddy is around.
